Naomi P. Bastow grew up in southern New Jersey, and during World War II, became a student at the Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a registered nurse. Later, she earned her bachelor of arts degree in education and her master’s degree in counseling at Rowan College in Glassboro, New Jersey. She has worked in the nursing field, later, as a nursing instructor, while also serving as a travel and food columnist for several newspapers and magazines, including Cruising World, Traveltips, and Freighter Travel. Married for fifty-two years to her husband, Bill, and with an adult daughter, the author includes among her hobbies reading, sailing, travel, and cooking. She lives in the mountains of western North Carolina, and this is her first published book.

Mrs. Bastow's short stories kept me entertained through the whole book. While I don't have much time to read, these stories were just right for me as I hate putting a book down while in the middle of it. Her writing made me feel as though I was right there watching as the stories unfolded with great detail and graphic descriptions that I would not have imagined otherwise. I think this would be a great book to read to someone aloud who is in need of some cheering up and some great story telling. Hope she writes another one.Product details
