Great effort. An enjoyable read. E for effort to the author. Will read his next book to see how his wrighting skills have progressed.
A unique plot line and escape from one of the most deadly SHTF scenarios out there. What made the book shine for me was how the author isolated and notated stories from his own life and included them in the book. A wonderful tale of survival that reminds you that all plans aren't created equal and you never know what people have up their sleeve.
Pretty good book. First one I've read by this author. Looking forward to others by him. Actually one of them trying to get to his family would be good.
This is a real page turner and a thought provoking look at survival in a time without electricity. The book a readable and fast paced adventure/memoir story. The author includes scenes from his own adventurous life and travels. The reader will gain many insights in how to prepare for potential disasters, which is worth the price of the book itself. Overall, a well-done story from a first time novelist.
Very good story line and an enjoyable read. There are some inconsistencies in the details of the story, especially with the weapons and ammunition. I cannot fault the author on that enough to give a bad review. The writing style gets a lot better as the story progresses. Early on it's hard to determine when the current story line switches to a memory and then back to the current events. All of that said.. It's worth reading and I hope there are sequels.
An engaging and suspenseful read of an epic journey. One I hope to never have to take.
The ending was abrupt though I see that as potential for a sequel.
